Julia holds a Master’s degree in quantitative methods in the social sciences with a focus in data science from Columbia University. She presented her Master’s thesis, a spatial analysis of rideshare data and service based on neighborhood demographics in Chicago, as a finalist for the annual Graduate School of Arts and Sciences Master’s SynThesis Competition. Prior to joining CEPR, Julia was the Business/Publishing intern for The Nation magazine and a data analyst for Advance Local. She also has years of experience in political and local organizing for progressive candidates and causes. Julia is immensely excited to join CEPR this Fall and build upon her quantitative and research skills in assessing policy aimed at tackling systemic issues. Her current research interests include how technology shapes our economic realities and vice-versa, the impact of social movements fighting for bold policies at the grassroots level, and how workers are building power through the labor movement.
