OccupyWashingtonDC.org held a hearing on the economy for the 99% that examined how to create a fair economy for all Americans. The hearing examined critical issues facing the economy and the federal budget and include testimony from people with great understanding of the issues facing the country, as well as comments from the 99% who are directly affected by the economy.
Participants included CEPR Co-Director Dean Baker; Kevin Zeese, an organizer of Occupy Washington D.C. and co-director of It’s Our Economy and co-chair of Come Home America; Andrew Fieldhouse of the Economic Policy Institute; Carl Conetta of the Project on Defense Alternatives; Margaret Flowers, an organizer of Occupy Washington D.C. and congressional fellow for Physicians for National Health Program; and Gar Alperovitz, a noted author with the National Center for Economic and Security Alternatives.
