Destinee Anderson is a 2023 University of Wisconsin-Madison first generation graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science with certificates in African-American Studies, Criminal Justice and Public Policy. She was enrolled in UW-Madison’s Wisconsin in Washington D.C. program during her senior spring semester, where she interned at the International Center on Nonviolent Conflict as an Education Initiatives Intern. During her time in undergrad, she interned at the Wisconsin State Capitol under Representative Don Vruwink where she worked on prison rights. She also has experience volunteering at Legal Action of Wisconsin to help incarcerated or ex-incarcerated individuals with expungement cases. Her passions lie within the criminal justice system and racial economic injustices. She also has an interest in international poverty and how this can intersect with women’s equality and access to education. In her free time she enjoys being outside in nature, traveling, and trying new food.
